Getting your Illinois real estate license might seem daunting, but we’re here to guide you through the process. Read on to learn about the five steps you’ll need to complete before starting your career in Illinois real estate. Successfully complete an approved 75 clock-hour Pre-Licensing course with 60 hours of Pre-Licensing education and 15 mandatory interactive hours. Learn more about your package options here.
After you complete all the course materials, meet the minimum time requirement, and pass the practice exam, you must pass a course final exam. The minimum passing score is 75%.
You will have 4 hours to take this 140-question test comprised of two portions, covering both state and national requirements. For more information, see the PSI Candidate Handbook. You can schedule an exam through the PSI exam site. You will be required to enter the course completion date and upload a copy of the Uniform Real Estate Transcript(s). PSI has a dedicated number for Illinois candidates with scheduling or any other issues on their exam - (855) 340-3893.
To be licensed, you must first be associated with a current and active Illinois sponsoring broker. It's important to find the right broker to work with since this person will serve as your mentor as you start your new career in real estate.
